WELCOME TO MIT!

FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR

BISHOP JOSEPH W. WALKER, III

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

I greet each of you in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. I am so excited about what God is doing in our midst. This MIT online resource is an attempt to capture the move of God, that has become increasingly difficult to explain as it relates to persons responding to the call and the need to organize and establish a formal presentation of the training, provided through the MIT program. What we have witnessed in this ministry has been nothing short of phenomenal. God is truly with us.

As I reflect over my ministry, I am humbled that God chose me to lead preachers and ministers as they discover and embrace what God has planned for their life and their calling. I believe God’s Word in its totality and God promised us that His Word would not return unto Him void.

This is just the beginning! We have not become at ease with this publication. There is yet work to do to continue to develop the best training environment for young ministers responding to the call. I believe God has raised us up in the world to be a beacon light and an effective example of what ministry looks like.

In closing, I want to encourage you to “walk worthy of the calling.” Fully engage in the MIT Program, and give it your all.

In Him

Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III, DMin.

Senior Pastor

Welcome to the new Academic Year. I am so excited about your future and what God is about to do in you and through you. The Ministers in Training Program is designed to stretch and challenge you in the area of theological work and reflection. Our goal and objective is to provide you with the necessary tools and resources in order for you to do as the Apostle Paul admonishes us in Ephesians 4:1, to walk worthy of the vocation wherein we have been called.

As you embark upon this journey I encourage you to “lean in”, “give it all you got” The journey ahead is not going to be easy but will indeed be well worth the time, sacrifice and energy that you devote to it.

Please know that It is our chief desire to see you succeed, therefore we will go above and beyond to ensure that you are given every opportunity to do just that. Please TRUST GOD in this process!! No matter what, God has allowed you in this program because HE knows you can make it!! If you trust HIM and do your part, you will make it through.

Please know that all of our instructors are here to serve you. Please use them as a viable resource as you journey toward completing the program.

If I can be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

FROM THE DEAN

DR. GIDEON OLALAYE

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I welcome you to the next level of ministerial training. This program was set up by Bishop Joseph Walker III, to engage church members who aspire to go beyond being a church member to a servant in the kingdom of God. Hardly is there any secular profession without a kind of training to enable the trainee to become professionally sound. In like manner, the work of ministry must not be saddled with untrained individuals. The MIT program is designed with you in mind.

You are called by God, and we will do what it takes to assist and empower you in actualizing the purpose of your calling. Paul urged his son in the Lord, "Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word truth." (II Timothy 2:15)

I am confident you will continue your high level of spirituality without compromise, respect for the instructors and above all sensitivity to God's presence.

Again, welcome to an exciting journey, MIT. You are blessed

Dr. Gideon A. Olaleye

Dean
